Imagine you own a bucket.
It can be shiny or dull, large or small. It can be made of steel or plastic, maybe it has a handle… You take your bucket wherever you go.
“Fulfilment” is the point where your bucket it full…
… and your “values” are what you fill your bucket with.
The liberating thing is, you can choose what you want to put in.
When you have a full bucket, you can move through your day knowing that your actions and intent are in line with fulfilment. You know that you are filling your time with things that are aligned with where you want to go and who you want to be.
To discover what you value, you need to follow an honest line of inquiry. You need to question your deeply held beliefs to find out what is important to you.
It requires awareness to decide what these things are. But they fill you with a sense of purpose and clarity.
It took me a lot of time to discover what my values are. Now, they drive me to make a positive contribution and seek fulfilment.
