The coward and the hero experience the same thing…
The difference is in how the respond to it.
There is no courage without fear.
In order to experience bravery, there must be something to overcome. Some fear to conquer, some obstacle to overcome.
Fear is normal. There will always be uncertainty and unknown things that make us afraid.
When I decided to go back and study full time, there was fear. I wasn’t sure if it was the right choice, whether it was the right direction to go in. I didn’t want to let down those around me by pursuing the wrong thing.
So I had a choice. I could back down, settle for something mediocre and continue on my way.
Or I could pursue this thing, even when I wasn’t sure if it was the right move.
Courage is taking action, even when we don’t want to. We rise, even when every fibre of our being is telling us to back down.
To chase vulnerability and passion, is to be brave.
It’s a choice.
So how will you respond?
