Trust the Process.

Put your faith in the process.

The process is the thing that we have control over. We can put in effort and time to nurture the controllable elements of the task.

It is difficult not to get hung up on the outcome. Whatever the thing is that we are working on or working towards, we care about it. So it’s natural to want to do everything we can to get a favourable result.

But wanting it badly enough will not get us there.

It’s a start, but it is ultimately action that will influence whether or not we will achieve it.

When I was training for my first strongman competition, I had certain targets for the weight that I wanted to hit for my lifts. I had these objective goals. There was a clear outcome in my mind.

However, as much as I wanted to lift that weight, if I didn’t put in the work beforehand, it wouldn’t become a reality. I had to put my faith in the training.

In showing up every day to implement a plan that was carefully and deliberately laid out.

Of course, the goals we set must be actionable. They must be realistically within our capacity to achieve in the time we have.

When we invest ourselves in a goal, it’s easy to look ahead and concentrate on the thing that we want.

Yet if we focus on that which we can control and the actions that will lead us to where we want to go, we have a higher chance of making the goal a reality.
