If we consider leadership to be holding others to a standard, then we can think of self leadership as holding yourself to a standard.
Self Leadership can be cultivated every day. All you need to do is show up and do the work.
This is what you do when no one else is looking. It is integrity, it’s doing the thing you said you would do, even when nobody is going to come looking.
It’s getting out of bed at 6am and going for that run when it’s dark and cold.
It’s creating space during your day to meditate and breathe.
It’s making your bed every morning and putting your clothes away each night.
It’s about fostering behaviours that are aligned with your values and aligned with who you want to be. The actions that you take are what’s going to bring you closer to the person you want to become.
If you want to learn more about self leadership, Lachlan and I recorded a podcast on this topic. The episode drops on Monday, so stay tuned.
